These collages, which I refer to as “Little Pleasures”, are an exercise in efficiency. My process is completely informed by my role as a mother, and the will to make something creatively satisfying. The resulting work is the embodiment of that will, the limited availability of my time, and what happens to be laying on the studio table at a given moment. The visual contrast of watercolor paint and magazine elements mirrors the balance I hope to maintain in my home and mind as I juggle the demands of motherhood.
