How have mothers/caregivers marked time in the pandemic?

I marked time in fits and starts, counting moments until the next meal, the next meltdown, the next online assignment. Each task another tick of the clock, another task checked off of my list. I lived in a state that I referred to as "the squeeze." There were far too many tasks to fit comfortably in a given time frame, yet I somehow squeezed them in. I liken it to fitting in a pair of jeans from high school. I could still squeeze in, still walk, still do most tasks, but in a constant state of discomfort. Only with jeans, you can take them off. With time, with mothering, the clock never stops.
