Wrinkle 1 (March 2021), work in progress
graphite on paper
3x3"
This current work in progress is the beginning of an exploration into felt mothering experiences/realities, especially during the pandemic, many of which feel contradictory. The added responsibilities can feel both safe and vulnerable, temporary and never-ending. This work is also loosely inspired by the short story, "I Stand Here Ironing" by Tillie Olsen, and the quote "I will never total it all." In the future, I imagine reflecting on this time, unsure of the consequences, the successes or collapses, the residuals.
