Being home all of the time with the kids left me with little time for myself. I had a desire to use a needle and thread, and missed the feeling of cotton fabric in my hands. This quilt came as a response to that desire. What was left of my dye garden was bundled in this fabric, preserving that moment of late summer during a pandemic. While they say, 'sleep when the baby sleeps,' I decided to stitch. These stitches nourished my soul during a time of loneliness and isolation.
