Devoured illustrates my despair and fear about my adolescent daughter’s extreme behaviors. I am being devoured by her and all her needs. Represented by the saber toothed tiger, she is a menace and a threat. I am the statue, frozen in fear for her safety and mine. I am armless, indicating my lack of power. Organic textures, clocks, shells, and classical statues are part of my personal lexicon and are seen often in my work.
